Keeping your baby’s pacifier clean is crucial for their health and safety. Here’s a quick guide to ensure your baby’s dummy is always spotless and germ-free:
-
Daily Rinse: Rinse the pacifier under warm running water daily, especially after each use. Prior to six months old it is recommended to sterilise prior to each use.
-
Sterilisation: For a deeper clean, especially with newborns, sterilise the dummy regularly. We recommend to place in a cup of boiling water for five minutes then remove and allow to air dry. We don't recommend using steralisiers of any kind as they can get too hot and melt the dummy or compromise the air-filled teats. Just make sure to let it cool down completely before giving it back to your baby.
-
On-the-Go Cleaning: When you’re out and about, keep some pacifier wipes in your Nappy bag for quick and easy cleaning. These wipes are designed to be safe for baby products and are handy for when you aren't home to sterilise.
-
Storage: Store the pacifier in a clean, dry container or a dummy pouch when not in use. If you have CMC Dummies always pop the cap on your dummy after use to avoid placing it loosely in your bag or pocket, where it can pick up dirt and bacteria.
-
Regular Inspection: While cleaning, inspect the dummy for any signs of wear, cracks, or damage. Replace it immediately if you notice any issues to ensure your baby’s safety.
We recommend to always make regular cleaning and inspection a habit to ensure your baby’s dummy is always ready for use.
